Club Fitting at IronRange Golf Performance
Get Clubs Built for Your Swing – Not Someone Else’s
Off-the-rack clubs are built for “average.”
You’re not.
At IronRange Golf Performance in Sioux Falls, our club fitting process uses tour-level technology, a purpose-built indoor facility, and the expertise of a Master Fitter to match your clubs to your swing, your speed, and your goals—so every shot has a better chance to do what you want.
Why Get Fit at IronRange?
- Master Fitter: Drew Trautman
All fittings are led or overseen by Drew Trautman, our Master Fitter. Drew has spent years studying how club design, shaft profiles, loft/lie, and build specs interact with different swings. He blends hard data with a coach’s eye so your clubs don’t just look good on paper—they perform for you in the real world.
- Tour-Caliber Tech
Every full-swing fitting is powered by TrackMan launch monitors for precise ball and club data—ball speed, spin, launch, path, face, and more.
- Indoor, Year-Round Environment
No wind, no weather, no rush—just a controlled space designed for testing and dialing in equipment.
- Short Game & Putting Included
With a 2,000 sq ft putting green, an additional 1,000 sq ft of chipping turf, and SAM PuttLAB, we fit more than just your driver and irons.
- Coaches Who Understand Players
Our team fits like coaches, not salespeople. The goal is the same as yours: better golf, not just new toys.
What We Fit
- Driver & Fairway Woods
Optimize launch, spin, and dispersion so you hit more fairways with the distance you deserve.
- Hybrids & Irons
Dial in distance gapping, launch windows, shaft profiles, and lie angles for consistent approach shots.
- Wedges
Choose the right lofts, bounce, and grinds for your swing and the courses you play.
- Putters
Using SAM PuttLAB and our indoor green, we match putter head, length, lie, and grip to your natural stroke.
Our Club Fitting Process
1. Player Interview
We start by understanding you:
- Current clubs and how they’re performing
- Typical ball flight and miss patterns
- What you want more of (distance, control, consistency, confidence)
- How often you play and practice
This shapes the entire fitting.
2. Baseline Testing
You’ll hit your current clubs on TrackMan so we can see:
- Ball speed, club speed, launch, and spin
- Carry distance, total distance, and dispersion
- Club path, face angle, and angle of attack
This gives Drew and the team a clear picture of what your current setup is doing—and what needs to change.
3. Test Heads & Shafts
Here’s where the Master Fitter magic happens.
We’ll build and test different combinations to find your best fit:
- Compare multiple heads, lofts, and shaft profiles
- Evaluate feel, consistency, and numbers for each setup
- Refine length, lie, and swing weight to match your body and motion
Drew’s role as a Master Fitter is to balance what the data says with what you feel—landing on a setup that performs over and over, not just on one perfect swing.
4. Short Game & Putter Fitting (Optional / Add-On)
On our indoor short-game areas:
- Test wedge lofts for proper gapping
- Match bounce and grind to your typical turf and sand conditions
- Use SAM PuttLAB to measure your putting stroke and fit the correct putter
If you’re going to invest in a better driver, your scoring clubs deserve the same attention.
5. Build & Follow-Up
Once your specs are dialed:
- We finalize your build sheet and order with the manufacturer or adjust in-house when possible.
- After you’ve played with your new clubs, we can make minor tweaks to lie, loft, or swing weight if needed.
The goal is simple: a set you can trust from the first tee to the 18th.
Who Club Fitting Is For
- Competitive juniors who are growing into their speed and need gear that keeps up
- High school and college players looking for every advantage they can get
- Dedicated adult golfers who practice and want clubs that match their effort level
- Newer golfers ready to upgrade from hand-me-downs or random used sets
If you care about your game, a proper fitting with a Master Fitter is a game-changer.
Why Do It Indoors?
Our indoor environment lets us:
- Eliminate wind and bad lies so we can evaluate you and the club—not the conditions
- Use consistent range balls and surfaces
- Fit year-round, not just in a short summer window
When your swing is measured in a controlled setting with high-end tech and a Master Fitter guiding the process, the results are clearer and more reliable.
